Darcy Copeland
Darcy Copeland (b. 1996) is an American composer based in Boston, MA whose compositional work is motivated by a desire to question the human experience through tactile & embodied exploration. Her work seeks to sculpt aural experiences that reflect a primal curiosity about the simultaneous suppleness, subtlety, and violence of what it means to be human in a world being ravaged.
Currently, her compositional interests lie in embodied listening, multimedia, sonic activism, and sonic ecologies. Darcy received a Master of Music degree in composition from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA and holds a Bachelor of Music in composition from Columbia College Chicago. Beginning in fall of 2022 she will undertake doctoral studies in composition at Harvard University.
