Sabrina Schroeder

Sabrina Schroeder’s work takes pleasure in frictions (both intimate and oppositional), in the grain of daily events, and in the visceral and imaginative possibilities of sound and physical performance. Originally from west coast Canada, she’s been the founder of a project/performance space for emerging sound and visual artists in Victoria BC, an active member of composer-performer collectives presenting scored and improvised music, a back-up-band coordinator for incarcerated teens in the mental health system, and has taught courses in Sound and Media Art at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Projects have included collaborations with Anthony Braxton, Quatuor Bozzini, ICE Ensemble, Arraymusic, Till-By-Turning, Flux Quartet, Quatuor Diotima, Ensemble Surplus, JACK Quartet, Ensemble Argento, Continuum Ensemble, musikFabrik, Vertixe Sonora, hand werk, Dal Niente, Stephane Ginsburgh, and Séverine Ballon.
