Harvard Group for New Music

HGNM welcomes Broken Frames Syndicate to the 2023-24 season. This will be our Goldberg concert of the season.

BROKEN FRAMES SYNDICATE plays contemporary music and brings holistic concert experiences to the stage. With eleven members, we show alternatives to the usual and stand up for the societal critique of relevant topics. We play contemporary interpretations of key works from recent music history and offer a multidisciplinary perspective at extra-musical issues.

In 2018 we formed after an extremely intense year together at the International Ensemble Modern Academy and see the energy we grew in Frankfurt as the basis of our playing.

We are united by an extraordinary joy in playing, which is particularly evident in live performances. Among others, we have performed at the Wittener Tage für Neue Musik, the Kölner Philharmonie, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Schloss Ludwigsburg, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Gaudeamus Muziekweek.
